मेरठ जनपद की कचहरी परिसर में उस समय हड़कंप मच गया जब एक खाली जमीन पर चेंबर बनाने को लेकर युवा अधिवक्ताओं और पुलिस प्रशासन के बीच तीखी झड़प हो गई। स्थिति इतनी तनावपूर्ण हो गई कि अधिवक्ताओं ने चेंबर के भीतर रस्सी का फंदा डालकर आत्महत्या करने की चेतावनी दे डाली।

​आरोप है कि एक युवा अधिवक्ता ने कचहरी परिसर में खाली पड़ी सरकारी जमीन पर रातों-रात अपना चेंबर खड़ा कर लिया। सुबह जब अन्य अधिवक्ताओं को इसकी जानकारी हुई, तो उन्होंने अवैध निर्माण का हवाला देते हुए इसका विरोध शुरू कर दिया।

सूचना मिलते ही पुलिस और प्रशासनिक अधिकारी मौके पर पहुंचे और चेंबर को खाली कराने की कोशिश की। ​जब पुलिस ने जबरन चेंबर से निकालने का प्रयास किया, तो युवा अधिवक्ता ने अंदर से दरवाजा बंद कर लिया। प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों के अनुसार, चेंबर के भीतर रस्सी के फंदे तैयार कर लिए गए और अधिवक्ताओं ने मांग न मानने पर जान देने की धमकी दी।

​इस विरोध प्रदर्शन में मुख्य अधिवक्ता के साथ कुछ महिला अधिवक्ता भी चेंबर के भीतर मौजूद रहीं, जिससे पुलिस के लिए ऑपरेशन और भी चुनौतीपूर्ण हो गया। ​​वर्तमान में कचहरी परिसर में भारी पुलिस बल तैनात है। बार एसोसिएशन के पदाधिकारी और वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता मामले को शांत कराने और बीच का रास्ता निकालने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं। हालांकि, प्रदर्शनकारी अधिवक्ता अपनी जगह से हटने को तैयार नहीं हैं।
