After a long gap, fresh snowfall was recorded across South Kashmir, prompting the Snow Clearance Control Room at Khanbal Anantnag to activate its teams and machinery to ensure smooth road connectivity. Executive Engineer, Mechanical Engineering Division, South Kashmir, Javed Ahmad, said that machinery was pressed into service immediately after the snowfall began. He informed that snow has been cleared from all major highways and link roads across the four districts of South Kashmir. He added that snow clearance operations will continue throughout the day, especially in higher reaches and difficult areas. The Executive Engineer appealed to the public to avoid parking vehicles at wrong places on roads, remain patient, and cooperate with the administration to facilitate uninterrupted snow clearance operations.
