Gulmarg, :All PDD Employees helds strong Protest Against Proposed Privatisation of Power Distribution in J&K. Employees of the Power Development Department (PDD) in Tangmarg Sub-Division have held a strong protest against the proposed move to privatise power distribution services in the area. The staff members expressed serious concerns over the decision, stating that such a move could adversely affect both employees and consumers. According to the protesting employees, privatisation may lead to job insecurity for hundreds of workers who have been serving in the department for years. They fear that the step could result in loss of employment, reduction in workforce, and uncertainty regarding their future service conditions. The employees further stated that the public may also suffer due to possible increase in power tariffs and decline in service accountability. They emphasized that PDD staff, being locally posted and familiar with the terrain and public needs, have been efficiently managing electricity distribution even in challenging weather and geographical conditions of the region. Speaking on the occasion, representatives of the protesting staff said that they are not against reforms, but any decision regarding restructuring or privatisation should be taken after proper consultation with employees and stakeholders. They demanded that the government reconsider the proposal and safeguard the interests of both workers and consumers. The protesting employees appealed to higher authorities to initiate dialogue and address their grievances at the earliest. They warned that if their concerns are not addressed, they may intensify their protest in the coming days. Meanwhile, locals and consumers have also shown mixed reactions, with many expressing apprehension over the possible impact on electricity services in the sub-division. The situation remains under close watch as PDD employees prepare for further course of action in response to the proposed privatisation plan.

:Various delegations today called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, at the LG Secretariat and apprised him of issues related to development, renewable energy, tourism promotion, connectivity, and social welfare in different parts of the Union Territory. A joint delegation from the Ladakh Renewable Energy Development Agency (LREDA) and the Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA) met the Lieutenant Governor and briefed him on matters concerning the functioning of hydroelectric power projects in Leh and Kargil districts. A delegation associated with the Pangong Frozen Lake Marathon informed the Lieutenant Governor about the forthcoming 4th edition of the marathon, scheduled to commence on February 24, with participation from runners across the country. They also shared details regarding the recognition and growing prominence of the event. Delegations from Lingshed and Chumathang apprised the Lieutenant Governor of local developmental issues and tourism-related initiatives in their respective areas. The Chumathang delegation highlighted the significance of the Chumathang Hot Springs as a tourism destination. A group of unemployed veterinary graduates also met the Lieutenant Governor and raised issues related to their professional concerns. Additionally, Mr. Hussain, a visually impaired citizen, called on the Lieutenant Governor and shared his personal concerns and those of his daughter, who is also visually impaired. The Lieutenant Governor gave a patient hearing to all delegations and reiterated the UT Administration’s commitment to inclusive development and to promoting Ladakh as a major tourism destination. He noted that Ladakh possesses immense untapped potential in adventure and wellness tourism, as well as renewable energy, and emphasised the importance of coordinated efforts to harness these opportunities.

Mumbai, Maharashtra:ठाकरे की शिवसेना ने परभनी के महापौर पद के लिए मुस्लिम उम्मीदवार के नाम को मंजूरी दी. सैयद इकबाल को महापौर घोषित किया गया. कांग्रेस उम्मीदवार गणेश देशमुख को उप महापौर घोषित कर दिया गया है. आज होने वाले महापौर और उप महापौर पदों के चुनाव से पहले ही सत्ता बंटवारे का समीकरण स्पष्ट हो गया है. उद्धव ठाकरे की शिवसेना और कांग्रेस के बीच हुए समन्वय के अनुसार, शिवसेना ने महापौर पद के लिए सैयद इकबाल का नाम पक्का कर लिया है, जबकि कांग्रेस ने उप महापौर पद के लिए गणेश देशमुख का नाम लगभग पक्का कर लिया है. शिवसेना ने मेयर चुनाव में सैयद इकबाल के पक्ष में मतदान करने का व्हिप जारी किया है. इसलिए, शिवसेना पार्षदों के लिए पार्टी के फैसले के अनुसार मतदान करना अनिवार्य होगा. वहीं, कांग्रेस ने उप महापौर पद के लिए गणेश देशमुख के नाम की आधिकारिक घोषणा कर दी है. इस बीच, शिवसेना और कांग्रेस के कुल 37 पार्षदों ने नगर निगम के लिए संयुक्त रूप से मतदान किया है. सभी पार्षद बैठक के लिए रवाना हो चुके हैं. दिलचस्प बात यह है कि सत्ताधारी गठबंधन की एकता स्पष्ट रूप से दिखाई दे रही थी क्योंकि दोनों दलों के पार्षद एक ही बस में बैठक के लिए गए थे. फिलहाल, सभी पार्षद मोरिया लॉन्स स्थित बैठक में एक साथ बैठे हैं और नेताओं और पार्षदों की बैठक जल्द ही शुरू होगी. इस बैठक में महापौर और उप महापौर पदों के लिए नामों को अंतिम रूप दिया जाएगा. इसके बाद, आधिकारिक चयन प्रक्रिया शुरू होगी. मौजूदा राजनीतिक समीकरणों के अनुसार, परभणी में शिवसेना से मुस्लिम महापौर और कांग्रेस से हिंदू उप महापौर का चयन लगभग निश्चित है. पूरा शहर आज के चुनावों पर केंद्रित है, और बैठक के बाद महापौर और उप महापौर दोनों पदों की आधिकारिक पुष्टि होने की संभावना है. यह भी संकेत मिल रहे हैं कि सत्ताधीर्ष गठबंधन चुनावों के बाद आगे की प्रशासनिक नीतियों के संबंध में निर्णय लेगा.

:A workers’ meeting of BJP Kisan Morcha was held today at Seer Hamdan in Anantnag district. The meeting was addressed by Nazir Ahmad Ganie, State Vice President, Kisan Morcha J&K UT; Ishfaq Ahmad Dar, District President, Kisan Morcha Anantnag. While addressing the gathering, the speakers highlighted the pro-farmer policies and welfare initiatives of the Bharatiya Janata Party and emphasized the need to strengthen the party at the grassroots level. गोमती प्रदूषण: लोग नहाने, फसल बर्बाद, STP जिम्मेदारों पर सवाल

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh:गोमती में यमुना जैसा प्रदूषण है। प्रदूषण के झाग में ग्रामीणों के लिए गोतागमन हो रहा है और यही जगह पर्यटन स्थल बनती जा रही है। गोमती में नालों का गन्दा पानी मिलकर पानी को जहर बना रहा है। ग्रामीणों के लिए सुरक्षा के पर्याप्त इंतजाम नहीं हैं, बच्चे, नौजवान और महिलाएं यहां घूमते हैं और नदी में झाग के साथ बदबू भी आती है। विशेषज्ञ के अनुसार लखनऊ शहर के ड्रेनेज पानी कई नालों के जरिये गोमती में मिल रहा है, जिससे पानी में फास्फेट, हैवी मेटल्स, आर्सेनिक, कैडमियम, क्रोमियम आदि मिलते हैं और बीमारी के जोखिम बढ़ते हैं। STP प्लांट की जिम्मेदारी Suez India Pvt. Ltd. के पास है, पर जमीन पर अपेक्षित सुधार नहीं दिख रहा। सरकार और विभाग से भारी बजट मिलने के बावजूद गति नहीं बन पा रही है और कहाँ पैसा जा रहा है यह सवाल बना हुआ है।

बोर्ड परीक्षा की तैयारी: 66 केंद्रों पर 36 हजार परीक्षार्थी देंगे परीक्षा, मजिस्ट्रेटों को मिला मुस्तैदी का मंत्र

Tulsipur, Uttar Pradesh:बलरामपुर में यूपी बोर्ड परीक्षा 18 फरवरी से 12 मार्च 2026 तक आयोजित होगी। जनपद में कुल 66 परीक्षा केंद्र बनाए गए हैं जहाँ 36,150 परीक्षार्थी शामिल होंगे। जिलाधिकारी विपिन कुमार जैन ने नकलविहीन परीक्षा हेतु कड़े निर्देश जारी किए हैं। सभी केंद्रों पर सीसीटीवी और वॉइस रिकॉर्डर के माध्यम से निगरानी रखी जाएगी। जोनल, सेक्टर और स्टेटिक मजिस्ट्रेटों को केंद्रों के भौतिक सत्यापन के निर्देश मिले हैं। परीक्षा केंद्रों पर पर्याप्त पुलिस बल की तैनाती और बाहरी प्रवेश पर प्रतिबंध रहेगा। नोडल अधिकारी चंदन पांडे ने केंद्र व्यवस्थापकों को बोर्ड की एसओपी से अवगत कराया। पारदर्शी और सुचितापूर्ण परीक्षा प्रशासन की सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता निर्धारित की गई है।

रामनगर में बाघ ने महिला पर हमला कर मौत दे दी, ग्रामीण भयभीत

Haldwani, Uttarakhand:रामनगर वन विभाग के फतेहपुर रेंज में एक बाघ ने महिला पर हमला कर मौत के घाट उतार दिया. लामाचौड़ इलाके से 3 महिलाएं जंगल चारा पत्ती लेने गयी थीं; अचानक बाघ ने महिला पर हमला कर दिया, जबकि साथ गयी दो अन्य महिलाएं जान बचाकर भागने में सफल रहीं. प्रत्यक्षदर्शी हेमा जोशी के अनुसार सुबह करीब 11:30 बजे गांव की महिलाएं जंगल में घास काटने गई थीं. इसी दौरान घात लगाकर बैठे बाघ ने अचानक गंगा देवी पर झपट्टा मार दिया. हमले की भयावहता से घबराई अन्य दो महिलाएं—जिनमें पुष्पा देवी भी शामिल थीं—चिल्लाते हुए गांव की ओर भागीं और लोगों को घटना की जानकारी दी. बताया जा रहा पुष्पा देवी और मृतका गंगा देवी सास-बहू हैं. सास को बाघ के जबड़े में जाते देख बहू का रो-रोकर बुरा हाल है. गांव में मातम पसरा हुआ है. घटना की सूचना मिलते ही ग्रामीणों का समूह जंगल की ओर दौड़ा, लेकिन तब तक बाघ गंगा देवी को जंगल के अंदर गहराई में ले जा चुका था. बाद में तलाश करने पर महिला का शव जंगल के भीतर बरामद हुआ. इस घटना से पूरे क्षेत्र में दहशत का माहौल है. ग्रामीणों का कहना है कि इलाके में लंबे समय से बाघ की सक्रियता देखी जा रही थी, लेकिन ठोस कार्रवाई नहीं होने से खतरा बढ़ता जा रहा था. अब लोगों ने वन विभाग से बाघ को जल्द से जल्द पकड़ने की मांग की है.
