Hazratbal के MLA Salman Sagar ने Friday Khutbahs मानकीकरण पर गहरी चिंता जताई
Srinagar, Uttarakhand:National Conference MLA from Hazratbal, Salman Sagar, has strongly criticised the proposed move to standardise Friday *Khutbahs* (sermons), describing it as a matter of grave concern and questioning the silence of religious scholars over what he termed interference in religious affairs. Sagar said the issue should not be treated as a minor matter, warning that such steps could have wider implications for religious autonomy. While clarifying that he had no personal animosity towards J&K Waqf Board Chairperson Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi and respected her as an individual, he questioned the role of religious scholars who, he alleged, had failed to raise their voices against the proposal. He said people were free to join any political party, including the BJP, Congress or National Conference, but religion should not be politicised. He also questioned why similar interference was not seen in the functioning of other religious institutions, including the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board and Sikh religious management bodies. Sagar maintained that deciding the content of Friday sermons, including discussions on drug abuse, social issues and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), should remain the responsibility of qualified religious scholars, including Maulanas and Muftis. “This is not merely a government order; it concerns religion, the Quran and Hadith. On what basis should government directives determine the content of religious sermons?” he questioned. Expressing disappointment over the alleged silence of religious scholars, Sagar urged them to reflect on their responsibilities and speak up on matters they believe could affect religious autonomy. His remarks come amid the ongoing controversy surrounding a J&K Waqf Board proposal to constitute a committee of scholars and Imams to suggest common themes for Friday sermons.0

He said several clerics and imams associated with mosques and shrines under the Waqf Board were invited to the meeting held on Saturday. Those present included the Khateeb of Qazigund Sharief, Riyaz-ul-Haq Sahib of Nowabad, and the Khateeb of Charar-i-Sharief, Amir-ud-Din Sahib, along with other religious scholars. Explaining the purpose of the meeting, Dawoodi said the discussion centred on the growing social problems affecting society and the role of religious scholars in addressing them through collective awareness. He said religious scholars could play an important role in tackling social evils, given their influence over large congregations during Friday prayers. If the same issue were highlighted simultaneously in hundreds of mosques, he said, it could help create greater public awareness and bring positive change to society. Dawoodi also emphasised that religious beliefs and principles were non-negotiable, asserting that there would be no compromise on matters of faith. Rejecting allegations that the meeting was intended to regulate or control Friday sermons, he categorically denied that any proposal had been discussed to provide government-written sermons to imams or require them to deliver predetermined speeches from mosque pulpits. He described such claims as false and misleading, clarifying that the meeting focused exclusively on social issues and the responsibility of religious scholars in addressing them. The Islamic scholar further asserted that religious scholars maintained their independence from political parties and would continue to uphold their religious responsibilities without political interference. Urging people not to spread misinformation or create unnecessary suspicion, Dawoodi reiterated that the objective of the meeting was to promote collective awareness against social evils, not to interfere with religious beliefs or undermine the independence of Friday sermons.0

The organisation said that no government or state institution has the authority to dictate what an imam should deliver from the pulpit during Friday prayers, asserting that Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir would never accept such a move. The Majlis emphasised that the pulpit is a sacred trust and that religious guidance falls within the domain of Islamic scholars, imams and recognised religious institutions. It maintained that neither the government nor any state institution should determine the content or subject matter of Friday sermons. However, the organisation clarified that religious scholars and Islamic bodies can collectively deliberate on common social issues and decide to address them through mutual consultation and consensus. Referring to the one-day conference organised by Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulama on September 15, the organisation said discussions were held on various religious and social issues, with several important decisions taken as part of its own consultative process. The Majlis stressed that prescribing the content or themes of Friday sermons through a state institution would amount to direct interference in religious matters. It urged the Waqf Board to concentrate on safeguarding Waqf properties, ensuring their proper management and maintenance, and fulfilling its core responsibilities instead of creating unnecessary controversy through interference in religious affairs.0

The protest is being held in response to the Draft Recruitment Rules concerning the proposed eligibility criteria for direct recruitment to the post of Forester. The protesting students appealed to the government to reconsider and amend the proposed recruitment rules, demanding that candidates holding a degree in Forestry be given exclusive eligibility for the post of Forester and other forestry-related examinations. The students said the proposed changes could affect the career prospects of those who have pursued professional education in Forestry. They urged the government to protect the interests of Forestry graduates and ensure that their specialised qualifications are given due consideration in the recruitment rules.0

बागपत के सूप गांव में कुत्ते की हत्या, जांच तेज करने की मांग

Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh:स्थापना- बिलासपुर स्थित विश्वविख्यात शक्तिपीठ श्री नैनादेवी मंदिर में शारदीय नवरात्र के दौरान now तक एक लाख के करीब श्रद्धालुओं ने मां नैनादेवी के दर्शन किए। आज चौथे नवरात्र के दिन माता रानी के कूष्मांडा स्वरूप की पूजा अर्चना की जा रही है. नवरात्रों के दौरान पंजाब, हिमाचल प्रदेश, हरियाणा, दिल्ली सहित विभिन्न राज्यों से श्रद्धालु बड़ी संख्या में माता रानी के दरबार में पहुंच रहे हैं। श्रद्धालु मंदिर में माथा टेकने के साथ-साथ हवन-यज्ञ और पूजा-अर्चना कर अपने परिवार की सुख-समृद्धि और खुशहाली की कामना कर रहे हैं। वहीं भक्तों की भारी भीड़ के चलते मंदिर परिसर में पूरे दिन भक्तिमय माहौल बना हुआ है। नवरात्रों के दौरान रात के समय मंदिर परिसर में भव्य भजन संध्या का आयोजन भी किया जा रहा है। गत रात आयोजित भजन संध्या में मशहूर पंजाबी गायक हैप्पी रायकोटी ने अपनी प्रस्तुति देकर श्रद्धालुओं को भक्तिरस में सराबोर कर दिया। उनके भजनों और प्रस्तुति से पूरा माहौल धार्मिक रंग में रंग गया तथा श्रद्धालु भक्ति में लीन नजर आए। इस अवसर पर मंदिर न्यास के अध्यक्ष धर्मपाल, अकाउंट ऑफिसर मनीष और मंदिर न्यासी प्रदीप शर्मा सहित बड़ी संख्या में श्रद्धालु मौजूद रहे। नवरात्रों के दौरान मंदिर में श्रद्धालुओं की लगातार बढ़ रही संख्या से शक्तिपीठ श्री नैनादेवी मंदिर में धार्मिक उत्सव जैसा माहौल बना हुआ है।0
