One-Day Awareness Programme on Fish Farming Held at Gulmarg Sub-Division* ABIS Fish Feed Company, in collaboration with the Fisheries Department Baramulla, today organised a one-day awareness programme for fish farmers of Sub-Division Gulmarg with the objective of enhancing fish production and promoting scientific fish farming practices. The programme witnessed active participation from a large number of fish farmers from across the Gulmarg sub-division. On the occasion, farmers were sensitised about high-yield and hybrid production techniques aimed at improving overall fish productivity and income generation. During the awareness session, experts from ABIS Fish Feed Company and the Fisheries Department delivered detailed lectures on the effective use of quality fish feed and fertilizers, particularly for trout fish farming. Farmers were also educated on modern methods to increase fish production, efficient farm management practices, and strategies to strengthen market linkage so that fish farming can emerge as a sustainable and profitable livelihood option. The experts explained step-by-step procedures on how to properly use fish feed and supplements to achieve better growth rates, improved fish health, and higher production levels. Special emphasis was laid on adopting scientific techniques to ensure quality production that can meet growing market demand. The participating farmers received hands-on guidance and interacted with experts to clarify their queries. They expressed satisfaction over the detailed and practical awareness provided during the programme and appreciated the initiative taken by ABIS Fish Feed Company in collaboration with the Fisheries Department Baramulla.
