Speaking at a gathering in Naseem Bagh commemorating the 120th birth anniversary of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, Dr. Farooq emphasized the importance of bringing forward young and educated leaders to rejuvenate the party’s grassroots presence. “We are making changes to strengthen the organisation,” he stated, subtly addressing internal criticism without naming individuals. Referring indirectly to remarks made by party MP Aga Syed Ruhullah, he stressed, “Some of our own people are speaking against the party. Everything we have today is because of this party.” He highlighted the challenges faced by the government due to limited powers under the Lieutenant Governor, yet acknowledged ongoing efforts to serve the people. Farooq called upon youth and women to engage more actively in politics, underscoring the necessity of fresh energy and stronger local representation. Reflecting on Sheikh Abdullah’s legacy, he described the day as a reminder of the Sher-e-Kashmir’s lifelong dedication to empowering the voiceless, driven by “service, compassion, and justice.” He urged party members and the public to uphold these ideals, stating, “Leadership means standing by those who suffer or live in despair. Our duty is to give them hope and ensure no child is left behind.
