Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, convened a Mega Public Outreach-cum-Awareness Camp at Ukhral area of JK's Ramban, witnessing overwhelming participation from residents of nearby panchayats. The camp focused on prompt grievance redressal, strengthening grassroots governance, and expediting developmental works across the region. A large gathering from Panchal, Ukhral, Pogal, Bhingara, Alinbass, Pingloga, Hochak, Dhamasta, Sujmatna, Runigam, Maligam, Panla and adjoining areas raised issues related to road connectivity, power supply, health services, sanitation, and overall infrastructure development. The Deputy Commissioner addressed most of the concerns on the spot, issuing immediate directions to district officers and executing agencies. The outreach camp was attended by DDC Member Balbir Singh Bali, SDM Ramsoo Sayed Mazahir Hussain Shah, ACD Sheraz Ahmed, CPO Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather, along with officers from Health, Horticulture, Agriculture, Social Welfare, JPDCL, FCS&CA, and Executive Engineers of PMGSY and PWD. Taking note of sanitation issues, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the ACD to identify land and formulate a plan for constructing Community Sanitary Complexes at Ukhral and Magarkote, besides ensuring proper maintenance of existing toilet units. He also directed the Rural Development Department to ensure smooth execution of all sanctioned MGNREGA and other works. On road connectivity, he directed the Executive Engineers of PMGSY and PWD to start immediate maintenance of drainages and expedite ongoing road up-gradation projects. Strengthening public infrastructure and welfare delivery, the DC instructed JPDCL to upgrade local power infrastructure, the Social Welfare Department to ensure timely disbursement of pensions, and the ZEO to conduct regular inspections of schools. He also asked the Agriculture Department to provide seeds and support services to farmers. The DC said such outreach camps are vital in bridging the gap between administration and the public, ensuring timely redressal of issues and fast-tracking development across Ramban district. Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner inspected stalls set up by various departments and banks, where officers provided on-the-spot services and disseminated information about government schemes. Later, he visited CHC Ukhral to review health facilities, interacted with patients, and assessed the quality of healthcare being provided.
