Rajouri, Sept 23: Several Muslim organisations in Rajouri staged a protest against the registration of FIRs and the arrest of 25 people in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, over the display of a board reading “I Love Mohammed (SAW).” Protesters gathered in the town and raised slogans demanding the immediate release of those arrested. They termed the action as “unjust” and said it had hurt the sentiments of the community. an Islamic scholar condemned the incident and said India has always been a country where people of different religions live together in harmony. He urged authorities to review the matter and ensure that communal harmony is maintained. The protesting organisations also appealed to the government to withdraw the FIRs and prevent such incidents that could disturb peace and unity.
