Anantnag, October 06: Abdul Majeed Larmi, senior leader and MLA from Anantnag West representing the National Conference, has expressed his views on potential candidates for the Rajya Sabha, emphasizing that Dr. Farooq Abdullah would be an excellent representative given the current circumstances. He also mentioned that the National Conference might field two more candidates. Larmi stated that Dr. Farooq Abdullah is considered a strong candidate to effectively represent the region’s interests. Highlighting developmental challenges, he noted that Kashmir has only six favorable months for construction projects due to weather conditions, stressing the importance of timely completion of such works. He criticized the practice of assigning multiple charges to under-staffed departments, which often delays projects. Larmi further pointed out the lack of robust recruitment policies in Kashmir, leading to rising unemployment among educated youth. He assured that efforts will be made to fill vacant positions in various departments, thereby creating job opportunities for local youth.
