In Jammu and Kashmir, security forces have expanded their massive crackdown on terror networks. For the last two days, multiple search and cordon operations have been underway across the districts of Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar — targeting Pakistan-based local terrorists, their overground workers and their relatives. The Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with the Army, CRPF and SOG, on Monday intensified their ongoing operations against terror operatives across the Jammu region. Massive cordon and search operations — or CASOs — are currently underway at dozens of locations in the Chenab Valley districts of Ramban, Kishtwar and Doda. According to officials, scores of suspected individuals have been called for questioning, especially in Doda district, as agencies pursue intelligence inputs indicating that terrorists hiding in higher reaches are seeking safe shelters in plains to survive the harsh winter. The searches have been especially tightened in Bhaderwah, Kastigarh, Thathri, Tanta and Fagsoo areas of Doda district. The coordinated operations, supervised by SSP Doda Sandeep Mehta, focus on the suspicious activities of the relatives and associates of Pakistan-based J&K terrorists, verification of antecedents, and strengthening the overall security grid. During these operations, security teams entered and inspected houses belonging to relatives and known supporters of active terrorists and OGWs. The teams thoroughly examined multiple premises to ensure no anti-national activities were being planned or facilitated. These joint drives include personnel from the Police, Army, CRPF, SOG units, and duty magistrates — covering all sensitive pockets across the district. Officials emphasised that the operations were executed in an organised manner without causing inconvenience to the general public. Police say such intelligence-based preventive measures are essential to maintain peace and prevent any revival of terror networks in the region. Agencies reiterated their commitment to neutralising any anti-national activity and appealed to citizens to cooperate by sharing credible information. The identity of informants, they assured, will be kept completely confidential. Meanwhile, during the searches, several mobile phones and other materials have been seized for detailed forensic analysis to trace possible links to anti-national activities. The crackdown is expected to continue in the coming days. Security forces say that these operations are crucial to preventing terror operatives from regrouping during the winter months. Agencies believe that timely action and public cooperation are key to ensuring long-lasting peace in the region.
