Press Note On Acid Attack Case – PS Bharat Nagar On 26.10.2025, at 10:52 AM, a call was received from Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital regarding the admission of a female patient with acid injuries. The call was marked to SI Ravi Rathi, who immediately reached the hospital. The injured girl, a second-year open school (non-college) student, stated that she had come to Laxmi Bai College, Ashok Vihar, for an extra class. She alleged that while walking towards the college, her acquaintance Jitender, resident of Gali No. 17, Mukundpur, along with his friends Ishan and Arman, approached her on a motorcycle. Jitender was driving, with Ishan and Arman riding pillion. She stated that Ishan handed a bottle to Arman, who allegedly threw acid-like liquid on her. The victim tried to shield her face but sustained burn injuries on both hands. She further alleged that Jitender had been stalking her and that a heated argument had occurred between them about a month earlier. The Scene of Crime (SOC) was inspected by the Crime Team and FSL Team. Based on her statement and the nature of injuries, a case FIR No. 605/2025, under Sections 124(1)/3(5) BNS, was registered at PS Bharat Nagar, and investigation was initiated. Investigation Findings So Far During the course of investigation, several facts emerged that contradict the version stated in the complaint: Location Verification of Jitender: The alleged person Jitender, who works as a painter, was found to be in Karol Bagh since the morning of 26.10.2025, as confirmed by CDR analysis, CCTV footage, and witness statements. The motorcycle alleged to have been used in the attack was also located in Karol Bagh during the relevant period. Prior Complaint by Jitender’s Wife: On 24.10.2025 (two days prior to the incident), Jitender’s wife made a PCR call reporting harassment and blackmail by the victim’s father, Akil Khan. She alleged that while working in Akil Khan’s factory (2021–2024), he sexually harassed her, forcibly established physical relations, and blackmailed her with objectionable photos and videos. On her complaint, a case has been registered at PS Bhalswa Dairy. The accused Akil Khan is currently absconding, and teams are conducting raids to locate him. Whereabouts of Co-accused Arman and Ishan: Co-accused Arman and Ishan are currently in Agra along with their mother Shabnam, a resident of Mangolpuri, and will be joining the investigation shortly. Shabnam has informed that she herself was a victim of an acid attack in 2018, allegedly by relatives of Akil Khan, and that a property dispute exists between her and Akil Khan regarding a Mangolpuri property. The case is under trial. Technical Analysis of the Victim’s Movements: CCTV footage shows the complainant leaving her home in Mukandpur on a scooty driven by her brother, who dropped her near the Ashok Vihar area, a short distance from the college. She was later seen travelling further in an e-rickshaw. The reason why her brother did not drop her at the college gate after driving her all the way from Mukundpur to Ashok Vihar is being examined. The brother has also become unavailable and is not joining the investigation. Further Investigation: In light of the above findings, the case is being further investigated under close supervision of senior officers to verify the authenticity of the FIR, the allegations of the complainant, and the defence of the accused persons.
