तेलंगाना: नागरकुर्नूल के थिम्मैपल्ली में आवारा कुत्तों के कथित हत्याकांड पर FIR

Telangana: An FIR has been registered in connection with the alleged mass killing of stray dogs in Thimmaipally Village, Charakonda Mandal, Nagarkurnool District. Around 100 stray dogs were reportedly killed over the past 10 days. According to a complaint filed by Mudavath Preethi (22), Animal Cruelty Prevention Assistant with the Stray Animal Foundation of India (NGO), the dogs were allegedly killed by injecting poison, an act described as cruel and illegal under animal welfare laws. The complaint alleges that the village sarpanch and panchayat secretary hired individuals for ₹18,000 to carry out the killings. It is further alleged that the bodies of the dogs were dumped about 2 kilometers away from the village to destroy evidence. Local residents and workers reportedly confirmed these claims. Based on the written complaint, Charakonda Police Station registered FIR No. 08/2026 on January 27, 2026, under: Section 325 read with 3(5) of BNS Section 11(1)(a)(i) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act The incident allegedly includes the killing of female and possibly pregnant dogs, including small puppies also killed, raising serious concerns among animal welfare groups. The complainant has demanded immediate arrests, post-mortem examinations of recovered dog bodies, and strict legal action against all those involved.
