Kurnool (AP): A major accident was narrowly avoided in the Ashok Nagar area of Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh after an electric pole collapsed during municipal drainage works. According to locals, the Municipal Corporation had dug up the road for drainage work, which weakened the electric pole. The pole suddenly fell onto the road, snapping nearby power lines. At the same time, a school-going child was passing through the area and narrowly escaped serious injury, missing the falling pole by just a few feet. Residents expressed anger over what they called official negligence, stating that a small lapse could have led to a tragic incident. Many citizens took to social media, demanding accountability and urging authorities to take proper safety precautions during development works.
