In an intelligence-led operation, State Special Operation cell (SSOC), Amritsar foils a Pak ISI-backed terror plot with the recovery of an RDX-based Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and arrest one accused from Amritsar. Preliminary investigation indicates that the accused was in contact with a foreign-based handler acting under the instructions of Pak-based handlers. The device had been concealed in a PVC pipe casing to evade detection. An FIR is registered at PS SSOC, Amritsar under relevant provisions of the Explosive Substances Act, Arms Act, and BNS. Further investigations are underway to unearth the complete terror network.
