Scores of employees under the Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Action Committee held a protest demonstration at Kashmir Haat, Srinagar, demanding regularization and an increment in wages. The protest, led by President Wajahat Duraani and General Secretary Sajad Parray, witnessed participation from hundreds of daily wagers and casual labourers. The leaders said the agitation aims to remind the government about its long-pending commitments towards nearly 4–5 lakh workers across Jammu and Kashmir. As the Assembly session continues, the employees hope for concrete measures to address their grievances and ensure livelihood security.
