Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar has, in accordance with the wish of the Imam-e-Hai of Jama Masjid and senior scholar Janab Ahmad Saeed Naqshbandi — and due to his advanced age and health concerns — entrusted his honorable son Janab Shakil Ahmad Naqshbandi with the responsibility of Naib Imam-e-Hai of the Central Jama Masjid Srinagar. The announcement was made by President of the Anjuman, Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Molvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, during a special ceremony held after Friday prayers, during which Shakil Ahmad Naqshbandi was formally turbaned (dastar bandi) in the presence of Imam-e-Hai and office-bearers of the Anjuman. On the occasion, Mirwaiz paid heartfelt tribute to Molana Ahmad Saeed Naqshbandi for his long and dedicated services and prayed for his complete health and well-being. He also offered warm congratulations and best wishes to Janab Shakil Ahmad Naqshbandi on assuming the new responsibility, expressing hope that he will follow the legacy of his esteemed father in serving the historic Jama Masjid with sincerity and devotion.
