Kulgam, October 16: Deputy Chief Minister Sh. Surinder Chowdhary today visited Kulgam district and laid the foundation stone of Ganesh Mandir at Vasoo Qazigund. During the visit, the Deputy CM also interacted with members of the Kashmiri Pandit community residing in the area and assured them of full government support and welfare measures. He was accompanied by the concerned MLA, besides MLA Home Shalibug, MLA Devsar, MLA Pahalgam, MLA Shangus, and all district officers. The Chief Engineer R&B briefed the Deputy CM about various ongoing and upcoming development projects in the district. While addressing the gathering, Deputy CM Chowdhary said that Kashmiri Pandits are the backbone of Kashmir’s composite culture and society. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring their safe and dignified rehabilitation. Later, the Deputy CM also inspected the ongoing construction work of residential quarters and reviewed the pace of developmental works in the region. The visit concluded with the Deputy CM emphasizing the government’s resolve to promote harmony, development, and inclusive growth in Jammu and Kashmir.
