Bhaderwah–Pathankot inter-state road in Doda district has been restored after an avalanche hit the area on Sunday evening, leaving dozens of vehicles stranded. Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhaderwah Sunil Kumar Bhutiyal said the avalanche struck between Thanthera and Guldanda at around 4:30 pm. He confirmed that no casualties were reported in the incident. At the time of the avalanche, around 50 to 55 vehicles carrying tourists were stuck on either side of the affected stretch. Upon receiving information, teams led by Tehsildar Bhaderwah Kamalpreet Singh from the Border Roads Organisation, police, district administration, and health department immediately rushed to the spot. After the clearance of snow and debris, all stranded vehicles were safely evacuated, and the tourists were rescued without any injury, he informed. Guldanda is a popular winter tourist destination in the Jammu region and witnesses heavy tourist footfall during snowfall.
