Fresh snowfall in the higher reaches of the Tulail Valley of Gurez and Zojila Pass has led to a significant drop in temperatures across the Kashmir region, with the Bandipora-Gurez road likely experiencing disruptions. The Kashmir Valley is currently experiencing severe cold conditions Following the snowfall, minimum temperatures have plummeted, with Srinagar recording around minus 3.1°C and Pulwama around minus 5.5°C in recent days. Zojila Pass has seen temperatures as low as minus 18°C. The Meteorological Department forecasts partly to generally cloudy weather with a chance of very light snow at isolated higher reaches of North and Central Kashmir over the next few days. The region is expected to remain under intense cold conditions.
