Massive Fire Erupts at CRPF Camp in Sumbal Bandipora Property Damaged Anchor:-A massive fire broke out early Monday morning at the Batakh Shed of the CRPF 45 Battalion, F Company, located in the Sumbal area of Bandipora district. According to officials, the fire erupted at the CRPF camp in Sumbal, opposite Government Degree College Sumbal, during the early hours of the morning. Soon after the incident was reported, fire tenders from the Sumbal Fire Station rushed to the spot and immediate rescue and firefighting operations were launched. Due to the intensity of the blaze, additional fire teams were pressed into service from the Naidkhai Fire Station to prevent the fire from spreading further. Officials said that the fire was brought under control after sustained efforts by the firefighting teams. They added that damage assessment is currently underway and all necessary measures are being taken to ensure complete safety in the area. Fortunately, no loss of life or injuries were reported in the incident. However, officials confirmed that the fire caused damage to the barracks, including beds and some personal belongings of the personnel stationed there. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit. Officials said that further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the fire. The timely response by the fire and emergency services helped avert a major tragedy, officials added.
