Reservoirs in Tirumala Reach Full Capacity TTD Chairman Performs Special Puja at Papavinasanam Tirumala: Following several days of heavy rainfall in the famous pilgrim center Tirumala, all major water reservoirs have reached near-full capacity. On Sunday, TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu performed special pujas and offered Ganga Harathi at the Papavinasanam Dam to mark the occasion. Speaking to the media, the Chairman expressed happiness that the reservoirs in Tirumala have reached 95% capacity, calling it a highly positive development. He stated that as both Papavinasanam and Gogarbham dams are completely full, water is being released downstream through the gates to maintain safe levels. Explaining the water supply situation, the Chairman said that Tirumala requires about 5 million gallons of water daily to meet the needs of devotees and temple activities. Of this, 2.5 million gallons are sourced from the Kalyani Dam in Tirupati and the remaining 2.5 million gallons from Tirumala reservoirs. He assured that sufficient reserves are available to meet Tirumala’s water requirements for the next 250 days. Naidu also appreciated the Engineering Department for their round-the-clock monitoring and efficient management of water resources. Additionally, the Chairman shared that TTD has recorded its highest-ever donations this year, with contributions totaling ₹918 crore in the past 11 months to various TTD Trusts.
