Amaravati | October 25, 2025 Health Department on High Alert Amid ‘Montha’ Cyclone Threat Doctors Directed to Stay at Hospitals Emergency Funds Released Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav Issues Key Instructions In view of the cyclone threat looming over the state, Minister for Health and Family Welfare Sri Satya Kumar Yadav announced that all doctors and paramedical staff have been placed on high alert. The Minister held an emergency teleconference on Saturday with Health Secretary Saurabh Gaur and other senior officials to review precautionary and preparedness measures in light of the ‘Montha’ cyclone warnings. During the meeting, the Minister emphasized the need for coordination among village, mandal, district, and state-level officials to effectively respond to alerts from the Meteorological Department. He instructed that no negligence or carelessness should occur at any level and that doctors and paramedical personnel must remain at their health centers 24x7 until the cyclone situation subsides. To ensure uninterrupted medical services and emergency readiness, the Minister announced that special emergency funds have been released to all district medical and health officers (DM&HOs). These funds are to be used for medical supplies, emergency logistics, and hospital maintenance, including fuel for generators and ambulance operations. Epidemic Cells Set Up Across the State Health Secretary Saurabh Gaur stated that epidemic control cells have been established at both district and state levels to continuously monitor ground situations. He said anti-snake venom, anti-rabies vaccines, and essential medicines have been stocked adequately. Details of pregnant women nearing delivery dates have been collected, and special arrangements are being made for their safety. As part of disease prevention efforts, emergency response teams have been kept on standby. He further said that hospital superintendents and senior doctors have been instructed to ensure uninterrupted health services even during power disruptions through the effective use of backup generators. Additionally, 108 ambulances and feeder ambulances have been strategically mapped for rapid deployment in emergency rescue operations.
