Sopore, Sept 10: With the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway reopened for LMVs, fruit growers from Asia’s second-largest fruit mandi in Sopore have appealed to the government to prioritize the movement of apple-laden trucks from Kashmir to other states to prevent further crop damage. President of Sopore Fruit Mandi, Fayaz Ahmed, while speaking to the media, said, “Asia’s second-largest fruit mandi is suffering immensely as hundreds of fruit-laden trucks remain stuck on the highway. Immediate priority should be given to their movement to save growers from huge losses.”
