ਪੰਜਾਬ ਜਲ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਤੇ ਸੀਵਰੇਜ ਬੋਰਡ ਦੇ ਆਊਟਸੋਰਸ ਠੇਕਾ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਤੋਂ ਤਨਖਾਹ ਨਾ ਮਿਲਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਹਲਕੇ ਧੂਰੀ 'ਚ ਕੰਮ ਬੰਦ ਕਰਕੇ ਰੋਸ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਕਲਾਸ ਫੋਰ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮ ਯੂਨੀਅਨ ਸੰਗਰੂਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉਪ ਮੰਡਲ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਸੀਵਰਮੈਨ ਤੇ ਪੰਪ ਅਪਰੇਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਨਖਾਹ ਨਾ ਮਿਲਣ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਚਲਾਉਣਾ ਔਖਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ 5 ਜੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਐਸਡੀਓ ਨੇ 8 ਜੂਨ ਤੱਕ ਤਨਖਾਹ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ, ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ 'ਚ ਭਾਰੀ ਰੋਸ ਹੈ।

By taking up the appeal, the top court has moved beyond the procedural questions it addressed earlier this year--when it sided with Trump on technical grounds related to how lower courts handled the challenges and will now directly consider the policy''s legality. Cecillia Wang, National Legal Director of the American Civil Liberties Union, welcomed the development, saying the organisation looks forward to the Supreme Court "putting this issue to rest once and for all." "The federal courts have unanimously held that President Trump''s executive order is contrary to the Constitution, a Supreme Court decision from 1898, and a law enacted by Congress," she said. The Trump administration''s arguments--long viewed as fringe interpretations even among some conservative legal scholars--are expected to draw intense public scrutiny as the court''s term progresses. The case marks another test of the court''s readiness to evaluate an aggressive legal position advanced by the White House. A ruling in Trump''s favour could overturn a fundamental principle of US constitutional and immigration law, potentially affecting how American parents document the citizenship of newborns. The court is set to hear the matter next year and will likely deliver its verdict by the end of June. CNN Supreme Court analyst and Georgetown University Law Center professor Steve Vladeck criticised the administration''s stance, calling its attempt to restrict birthright citizenship by executive order "wrong." Noida, Uttar Pradesh:Implementing multi-pronged measures to curb air pollution from paddy stubble burning: Govt New Delhi [India], December 5 (ANI): The union Government has taken multiple measures to curb air pollution caused by paddy stubble burning in the National Capital Region (NCR) and other parts of North India, union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Kirti Vardhan Singh, informed the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. The Minister said that air pollution in NCR results from multiple factors, including vehicular emissions, industrial pollution, construction and demolition dust, biomass burning, municipal solid waste burning, and stubble burning, among others. Recognising the role of paddy stubble burning as an episodic contributor to poor air quality, the government has been implementing a Central Sector Scheme on Crop Residue Management (CRM) since 2018-19. Under the scheme, 50% financial assistance is provided to farmers for purchasing machinery for crop residue management. In contrast, rural entrepreneurs, farmer cooperatives, Self Help Groups (SHGs), Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), and Panchayats receive 80% support for setting up Custom Hiring Centres (CHCs). Financial aid of up to 65% is also available for paddy supply chain projects for machinery such as high-horsepower tractors, cutters, balers, rakers, loaders, and telehandlers, a release said. From 2018-19 to 2025-26, the Central Government has released Rs. 4,090.84 crore to states, including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Delhi, for CRM initiatives. More than 3.45 lakh crop residue machines have been provided to farmers, and over 43,270 Custom Hiring Centres have been established. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) also provides one-time financial support for establishing pelletisation and torrefaction plants to promote the utilisation of paddy straw. The Ministry of Power has launched the National Mission on the Use of Biomass in coal-based thermal power plants to encourage co-firing of biomass pellets. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy provides central financial assistance for setting up waste-to-energy plants. At the same time, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has launched schemes for biomass aggregation and advanced biofuel projects under the Pradhan Mantri JI-VAN Yojana. The Minister highlighted that the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has directed states to provide rent-free CRM machines to small and marginal farmers. Coordinated efforts in Punjab and Haryana have resulted in an estimated 90% reduction in stubble-burning incidents during the 2025 paddy-harvesting season compared to 2022. Kirti Vardhan Singh emphasised that these initiatives not only address environmental pollution but also provide remunerative income to farmers, create local employment, and contribute to India\'s energy security. Noida, Uttar Pradesh:7.3 pc prevalence of mental health disorders among 13-17-year-olds in 12 states: Centre The prevalence of mental health disorders in the age group 13-17 years is about 7.3 per cent in 12 states, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav said on Thursday while sharing findings of a National Mental Health Survey (NHMS). He said the government launched a “National Tele Mental Health Programme” on October 10, 2022, to further improve access to quality mental health counselling and care services in the country. Jadhav, in reply to a question in Lok Sabha, said as per the NMHS, 2015-16 of India conducted by the Government through the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru, in 12 States, the prevalence of mental health disorders in the age group 13-17 years is about 7.3 per cent. The MoS said the Tele-MANAS Mobile Application is a comprehensive mobile platform that has been developed to provide support for mental health issues ranging from well-being to mental disorders. Tele-MANAS Mobile Application has been expanded to include 10 additional regional languages — Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, and Punjabi — along with the previously available languages, English and Hindi. Tele-MANAS Mobile Application also assists visually challenged persons by making its mental health services accessible through a specially designed, user-friendly digital interface and a toll-free phone line that does not require screen use, said the MoS. As of November 27, 36 States/ UTs have set up 53 Tele-MANAS Cells. Tele-MANAS services are available in 20 languages based on the language opted by the States. More than 29.82 lakh calls have been handled on the helpline number since its inception. The total number of calls handled through the Tele-MANAS platform during the current year is 12.33 lakh, said the MoS. The government has also launched the video consultation facility under Tele-MANAS, as another upgrade to the already existing audio calling facility. Highlighting the joint efforts of the Education Ministry, Jadhav said, “The Ministry of Education (MoE) has launched an initiative, Manodarpan, to provide psychosocial support to students, their families and teachers across the country, for mental health and well-being.” He said that all activities undertaken under the Manodarpan initiative are aimed towards supporting the mental health and well-being of students from schools, colleges and universities, including those students who are preparing for competitive examinations. The Mos said that the University Grants Commission (UGC) also issued Guidelines for Promotion of Physical Fitness, Sports, Students'' Health, Welfare, Psychological and Emotional Well-being at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) on April 13, 2023. The guidelines provide for promotion of physical fitness and sports activities for students creation of safeguards against academic pressure, peer pressure, behavioural issues, stress, career concerns, depression and other issues on the mental health of students to teach positive thinking and emotions in the student community; and to promote a positive and supportive network for students, he said.

Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh:द ग्रेट खली ने तहसीलदार पर जमीन हड़पने के आरोप लगाए हैं। विश्व प्रसिद्ध रेसलर दलीप राणा उर्फ ग्रेट खली ने पांवटा साहिब तहसीलदार सहित राजस्व विभाग पर उनकी जमीन पर अवैध कब्जा करने के गंभीर आरोप लगाए हैं। कुछ स्थानीय महिलाओं और ग्रेट खली ने इस संबंध में सिरमौर उपयुक्त से शिकायत की है। दूसरी तरफ तहसीलदार ने खली के आरोपी को निराधार बताया है। तहसीलदार ऋषभ शर्मा का कहना है कि ग्रेट खली पंजाब से हथियारबंद लोगों को लाकर किसी और जमीन पर कब्जा करने का प्रयास कर रहा है। ग्रेट खली ने कहा कि जमीन उनके पिता ने 2013 में खरीदी थी, जिसे पर पांवटा साहिब तहसीलदार और कुछ प्रॉपर्टी डीलर जबरन कब्जा करने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं। पांवटा साहिब के सुरजपुर की कुछ महिलाओं और खली ने जमीन पर अवैध कब्जे के आरोप लगाते हुए डीसी सिरमौर को शिकायत सौंपी है। खली ने निष्पक्ष कार्रवाई की मांग की है। खली ने कहा कि वे 28.08 बीघा जमीन के सह-स्वामी हैं, पिछले पांच दशक से वहीं रह रहे हैं, पर अब दबाव बन रहा है और जमीन हड़पने का प्रयास किया जा रहा है। 20 मई 2025 को कुछ लोगों ने जमीन पर जबरन कब्जा करने की कोशिश की; 18 जुलाई 2025 को भी प्रयास हुआ, ग्रामीणों और शिकायतकर्ताओं ने नाकाम किया। शिकायत में आरोप है कि यह कार्रवाई राजस्व अधिकारियों की मिलीभगत से की गई। शिकायत में यह भी आरोप है कि तहसीलदार समेत कुछ राजस्व अधिकारी अपनी शक्तियों का गलत इस्तेमाल कर रहे हैं। खली ने दावा किया कि उनके पास जमीन से जुड़े दस्तावेज मौजूद हैं।

Banur, Punjab:बनूड़ - जी मीडिया के अनुसार बनूड़ के राजपुरा - जीरकपुर हाईवे सर्विस रोड पर ट्रैफिक जाम लगने की समस्या सामने आई है। स्थानीय लोगों ने कहा कि सर्विस रोड पर दिन भर ट्रैफिक जाम की समस्या का सामना करना पड़ता है। ट्रैफिक जाम के कारण रोड पर स्थित दुकानदारों के काम धंधे पर असर पड़ता है। स्थानीय लोगों ने बताया कि शराब फैक्ट्री की तरफ टर्न लेने वाले भारी वाहनों के कारण जाम की स्थिति बनी रहती है। वही पराली से लदी ट्रैक्टर ट्रॉलियाँ भी जाम का कारण बनती हैं। स्थानीय लोगों ने ट्रैफिक पुलिस अधिकारियों से मांग की है कि सर्विस रोड पर लगने वाले ट्रैफिक जाम से निजात दिलाने के लिए भारी वाहनों और ट्रैक्टर ट्रालियों का समय तय किया जाए。
