A helmet-wearing man entered the elevator and attempted to snatch a gold chain from an elderly woman, Bharti Jani, in La Residencia Society, Greater Noida West. The CCTV footage shows the attacker boarding the elevator from behind as the doors close and fleeing after the woman raised an alarm. The incident occurred in Tower B-1 of the society, where Bharti Jani was going downstairs with a young girl. The miscreant wore a helmet to conceal his face, raising questions about security at the society. Residents allege inadequate security despite monthly maintenance charges, with guards often distracted by mobile phones and insufficient visitor verification. Police and security heads have been approached for comments.
