Srinagar | The Kashmir Vendors Association on Monday held a press conference to highlight the issue of long-pending payments dating from 2017 to 2026. Addressing the media, Association President Manzoor Ahmad Gania said that vendors across Kashmir have been facing severe financial distress due to the non-release of their pending payments for several years. He urged the Lieutenant Governor’s administration, the Central Government, and the Jammu and Kashmir Government to immediately release the dues without further delay. Gania warned that if the authorities fail to address the issue within the next seven days, the association will be left with no option but to launch district-wise protests across Kashmir. He said the responsibility for any inconvenience or unrest would lie solely with the administration. The association appealed to the government to take the matter seriously and ensure justice to thousands of vendors who are struggling to survive due to prolonged financial neglect.
