Jammu & Kashmir Transport Welfare Association General Secretary Sheikh Mohammed Yousuf today held a press conference at the Association’s office in Butmaloo, Srinagar, to express his views on the recently presented Budget. Addressing the media, Sheikh Mohammed Yousuf said that the transport community had high expectations from the Budget and hoped for concrete relief measures for transporters who have been facing economic challenges for the past several years. He stressed the need for tax relief, fuel subsidies, and financial support schemes to strengthen the transport sector in Jammu & Kashmir. He also highlighted issues related to rising operational costs, road infrastructure, parking facilities, and traffic management, stating that these directly impact the livelihood of thousands of people associated with the transport industry. Sheikh Mohammed Yousuf appealed to the government to take the concerns of transporters seriously and include their demands in future policy decisions.
