Peer Dastgeer Sahab shrine in Banihal area of Ramban district visited by Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of the Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board. After taking charge, she reviewed the shrine facilities, interacted with the public and announced beautification works. This was her first official visit to the Peer Dastgeer Sahab shrine since assuming charge. She was accompanied by SDM Banihal Mohd Naseeb, Naib Tehsildar Zakir Hussain and SHO Banihal Ashiq Bukhari. The visit aligns with the Waqf Board’s ongoing process of centralizing shrine management across Jammu & Kashmir to ensure transparency and modernize administrative control under the Waqf Act. Dr. Andrabi discussed future development projects with Waqf officials and the Waqf Administrator. She stated that this place holds immense faith for the people and that facilities will be upgraded and the shrine campus beautified, with the government safeguarding religious places. Public delegations shared suggestions for improving shrine infrastructure, and the Waqf Board assured complete transparency in restoring the glory of spiritual centres across J&K. The visit signifies a step toward streamlined shrine management and enhanced facilities for devotees, with beautification work set to begin soon as part of broader reforms across the Union Territory.
