Ramban: To create awareness about road safety and the importance of following traffic rules, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Ramban, in collaboration with the Health Department, organised a one-day Road Safety Awareness and Health-cum-Eye Check-up Camp at Sangaldan area of Ramban. The programme was conducted under the supervision of ARTO Ramban, Er. Kuldeep Singh, along with Motor Vehicle Inspectors. Mohd Iqbal BMO Sangaldan was also present on the occasion. A dedicated team of doctors from the Health Department examined drivers, driving licence seekers, transporters and members of the general public. An eye check-up was also conducted during the camp, keeping in view the importance of good vision for safe driving. Free medicines were distributed among the participants. An awareness session on road safety was also held, highlighting safe driving practices, the importance of physical fitness of drivers and eye care while driving. Speaking on the occasion, ARTO Ramban Er. Kuldeep Singh said that the initiative aimed to promote road safety through health awareness, emphasising that physically fit and alert drivers play a crucial role in preventing road accidents. He added that the medical camp was organised to ensure that drivers remain physically fit and mentally alert, thereby contributing to safer roads.
