An encounter has erupted between security forces and hiding terrorists in the Passerkote forest area of Chatroo in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district. Sources say 2–3 terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area. A joint operation by the Army, J&K Police, SOG, and other security agencies is currently underway. Confirming the development, the Army’s White Knight Corps shared on its official X handle that “contact has been established with terrorists under Op Chhatru.” According to sources, Heavy gunshots were heared. According to the Army, in an intelligence-based operation, alert troops, in coordination with J&K Police, made contact with the terrorists in the early morning hours. Exchange of fire has taken place, and the operation is in progress.
