Bandipora Police Trek Through Four Feet of Snow to Deliver Emergency Medical Aid in Tulail In an emergency rescue operation amid harsh winter conditions, Bandipora Police braved over four feet of snow to ensure critical medical assistance reached a seriously ill patient in the remote Tulail Valley of north Kashmir. Officials said the Dungithal–Sheikhpora road had become completely impassable due to heavy snowfall, cutting off the area and preventing vehicles from moving. Following information about a patient requiring urgent medical attention, police authorities immediately coordinated with health officials and deployed a team to escort a paramedic to the snowbound village. With no vehicular access available, the police personnel and the paramedic proceeded on foot, trekking through deep snow and navigating treacherous terrain in sub-zero temperatures. After several hours, the team successfully reached Dungithal village, where the paramedic administered necessary medical treatment to the patient. Officials said the timely intervention helped stabilise the patient’s condition and brought relief to the family members. Local residents appreciated the efforts of the police, describing the rescue as a rare display of dedication under extreme weather conditions. The operation comes as large parts of Bandipora district, including Gurez and Tulail, remain cut off following continuous snowfall. Authorities said snow clearance efforts are ongoing, but heavy accumulation and weather conditions continue to hamper road connectivity.
