Ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, traders of Ashajipora Fruit Mandi in Anantnag have decided to reduce the prices of fruits and vegetables to support the local community. The decision was taken unanimously under the leadership of Mandi President Riyaz Ahmad Khan, along with other traders, during a meeting held at the market. President Riyaz Ahmad Khan said that Ramadan is a sacred and blessed month, and it is their moral responsibility to ensure that essential food items remain affordable for everyone. He added that traders have collectively agreed to keep profit margins low during the holy month so that no family faces difficulty in purchasing daily necessities. The traders emphasized that the initiative is aimed at serving the community and promoting the true spirit of Ramadan — compassion, unity, and support for the needy. Local residents have welcomed the move and appreciated the traders for their thoughtful decision ahead of the holy month.
