Deepu used to work in a textile factory in Bhaluka. It is alleged that he made objectionable remarks against Islam. According to reports, there are rumors that Deepu Chandra Das has made objectionable comments about Islam. This angered the factory workers and demanded that Das be fired. Meanwhile, a crowd of people gathered outside the factory. Alamgir Hussain, floor in-charge of the factory, also said that the mob demanded that Deepu be handed over to them. At first the factory management tried to protect Deepu from the mob and kept him in the security room. During this time the police did not reach the spot and the situation got out of control. The factory management then handed over Deepu to the violent mob to save the premises.
