Commenting on the arrest of Doda MLA Mehraj Malik, Sharma said that legislators represent a large section of the public and should maintain dignity in their conduct. He criticized the language used by Malik, saying it was “not appropriate” for a lawmaker. On the Hazratbal emblem issue, Sharma refrained from commenting on legal aspects but said, “What happened there is not good. The National Emblem is one of the most respectful symbols of our country, and no one can deny its significance.” Sharma also welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying his recent initiatives have provided major relief to businessmen and boosted confidence among the trading community.
