Ganderbal, Sept 11: The National Conference (NC) Ganderbal unit today held a convention at the party office in Ganderbal, presided over by the newly appointed District President, Sheikh Gayasuddin. Party workers extended a warm welcome to him on assuming the new responsibility. Addressing the media, Sheikh Gayasuddin said, “Give me some time, I have a vision to develop Ganderbal.” On being asked about the detention of MLA Mehraj Malik under the Public Safety Act (PSA), he remarked that Malik is a public representative and imposing PSA on him is “unethical.” Sheikh Gayasuddin also welcomed the announcement of a daily parcel train from Budgam to New Delhi by union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, saying the move would bring huge relief to apple growers and boost the economy of Jammu and Kashmir.
