Deputy Commissioner Ramban Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary visited far-off Chamalwas area in JK's Ramban on Wednesday to chair mega public outreach programme to address the concerns of people and to listen their grievances at their door steps. The event held at Govt Higher Secondary School Chamalwas, part of ongoing public outreach program, saw the Deputy Commissioner engaged in a day-long interaction with the people. A significant number of people from various walks of life attended this event.

Sub Divisional Administration Banihal organized a mega one day awareness programme on 'Mission Youth' schemes and Labour Welfare Schemes in Banihal area of Ramban on Thursday. ALC Ramban Amit Kumar presided the programme as cheif guest, while DDC Councillor Imtiaz Ahmed Khanday, Tehsildar Banihal Imtiaz Ahmed, officers and officials of different Departments were also present on the occasion. Indian Army Empowering Women Through Stitching and Tailoring Course
The Indian Army is continuing its efforts to uplift the status of women in rural areas of the Kashmiri community. It has started a Stitching and Tailoring Course for women from the remote areas of Banihal tehsil in Jammu Division. This project is in line with the Indian government's "Skill India" and "Digital India" initiatives. A total of 10 women have been selected for this three-month program, taking into consideration their economic conditions.

Ramban district administration Sets Up Tents for Amarnath Yatra Pilgrims
The Ramban district administration has set up a high-quality tented accommodation at Langer site in Banihal for Amarnath Yatra pilgrims. With a capacity of 5,000 beds, the facility offers bedding and other necessary amenities. DC Baseer-Ul-Haq Chowdhary inspected the site and stated that this arrangement aims to facilitate more pilgrims during the Amarnath Yatra 2024. The tent city is located at Lamber Ground, Banihal, and is fully equipped to cater to the needs of the yatris.
Ramban District is set to achieve Full Coverage under JJM next year
Ramban district in Jammu and Kashmir is set to achieve 100% coverage under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) next year. Currently, about 70% of the district's population has been connected to the scheme. Residents from remote villages like Karool, Kundi, Sildhar, Dhandrath, and Ramban expressed gratitude to the UT and district administration for the progress. The community is optimistic about full coverage in the coming year, which will ensure safe drinking water access for all households.
