Due to a western disturbance, the weather in North India has taken a sudden turn. Rain and snowfall, along with severe cold, have been recorded in the mountains and plains of North India, including Delhi-NCR. The effects of the change in weather have been clearly felt, with temperatures dropping. On March 20, Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and parts of Madhya Pradesh are facing the threat of severe dust storms, rain, hailstorms, and lightning. The severe weather is expected to cause widespread damage to the Rabi crop. According to the Meteorological Department, a strong western disturbance will remain active in the mountains for the next 24 to 48 hours, causing poor weather in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, and higher elevations in Jammu and Kashmir. During this period, winds will blow at speeds of 30 to 50 kilometers per hour, and thunderstorms, rain, and snowfall will occur. Meanwhile, cloud movement continues across North India due to the disturbance's influence.
