Brother Sentenced to Death for the Brutal Murder of His Sister FIR No.: 373/2011 S.C. No.: 347/2023 Hyderabad: The Additional District Judge of Medchal–Malkajgiri District, Kukatpally Court, Sri Manda Venkateshwara Rao, on 29-12-2025, pronounced a judgment sentencing a man to death penalty for the heinous murder of his own sister. According to the details presented by Additional Public Prosecutor Sri G.V. Ramakrishna Rao, who argued the case on behalf of the prosecution: Based on a complaint received on 18-07-2011 at Sanathnagar Police Station, police registered a case and initiated an investigation. During the course of the investigation, the accused Karan Singh (son of Jingooning, profession: Blacksmith, resident of near Gurudwara Store, Bidar, Karnataka) was taken into custody. Upon interrogation, he confessed to the crime. In his confession statement, the accused stated that his parents had two children, and through his father’s second marriage, there were five sons and one daughter named Maya. After the death of his father, the children of the second wife continued to reside in Karnataka and used to visit him occasionally. He further stated that his sister Maya had married a man named Haji, a resident of Utnur, in 2005, against the wishes of their relatives. Maya had two daughters. He alleged that Haji was involved in theft cases and had gone to jail. Maya used to visit his house from time to time. On 18-07-2011, Maya came to his place from Jameerabad. On the same day, at around 7:00 PM, the accused stated that both of them consumed alcohol and went after jumping a compound wall into a vacant land with bushes behind a godown near Bharatnagar Chourasta, beside a bridge. After a thorough trial and examination of evidence, the court found the accused guilty beyond reasonable doubt and awarded him the death sentence. Accuses found laughing in front of police shocked everyone... while he was shifting to jail.
