Members of the Shia community on Friday held a peaceful protest outside Imambargah Zadibal to strongly condemn the brutal blast at Imambargah Khadijat-ul-Kubra in Tarlai, Islamabad (Pakistan), which left several people injured. Men, women, and youth from the community participated in the protest, carrying placards and raising slogans against terrorism and targeted attacks on religious places. The protesters described the incident as an inhuman and cowardly act, stating that attacks on places of worship are an attack on humanity itself. Religious scholars and community leaders present on the occasion expressed deep anguish over the continued violence against the Shia community and demanded that the perpetrators behind the attack be brought to justice at the earliest. They emphasized the need for unity, peace, and protection of religious minorities across the region. After the protest, special prayers were offered for the swift recovery of the injured and for eternal peace to the departed souls. The speakers also prayed for peace, harmony, and an end to sectarian violence. The protest concluded peacefully, with participants urging the international community to take serious note of what they termed as targeted violence and Shia genocide.
