PDP Protests in Srinagar Over Attacks on Kashmiri Vendors Across India
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) staged a protest at its party headquarters in Srinagar against recent attacks on Kashmiri vendors and shawl sellers in different parts of the country. Party leaders and workers raised slogans demanding protection and justice for the affected traders, terming the incidents alarming and unacceptable.
Tahir Lone, President of PDP Youth Wing, said India is known for unity and harmony but alleged that the BJP is trying to communalise the situation by targeting Muslims. He further criticized the National Conference for not taking the matter seriously and failing to respond strongly to the growing insecurity faced by Kashmiri vendors outside Jammu and Kashmir.
PDP strongly condemned the attacks and demanded strict action against those involved in these incidents. The party urged the central and state governments to ensure safety of Kashmiri traders across the country and to prevent such acts that, according to PDP, threaten social harmony and national unity.
