Jammu and Kashmir Justice and Development Front (JKJDF) President Shameem Ahmad Thoker on Saturday welcomed the decision of the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and the Jammu and Kashmir Police administration for lifting restrictions across the Kashmir Valley, saying the move has helped bring life back to normal. In a statement, Thoker said that normal activities have resumed in many parts of the Valley after several days of restrictions. Markets have reopened, public transport has started functioning, and people are returning to their daily routines, bringing relief to residents. He appreciated the efforts of the LG administration and the police for maintaining law and order during the tense period and ensuring that the situation remained under control. At the same time, Thoker expressed deep condolences over the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, saying the loss of innocent lives in the war is deeply painful. He prayed for peace and stability in the region and urged the international community to work towards stopping the violence. The JKJDF president also urged the administration to properly monitor markets ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, stressing that strict checking should be carried out to prevent black marketing and price hikes. He said authorities must ensure that essential commodities are available to the public at reasonable prices so that people can prepare for Eid without difficulties. Thoker further appealed to traders to act responsibly and cooperate with the administration during the festive season. He also called on the people of Kashmir to maintain peace, unity, and communal harmony, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
