BJP Jammu & Kashmir Chief Spokesperson Altaf Thakur has welcomed the President of India’s order regarding the Indus Waters Treaty, calling it a strong and timely decision in the interest of national security. Reacting to the development, Altaf Thakur stated that “bullet and water cannot be treated as equal,” asserting that India’s sovereignty and security must always take precedence. He said that while India has consistently respected international treaties and agreements, any misuse of peace by hostile forces cannot be overlooked. Thakur emphasized that decisive and firm steps are essential when the nation’s safety is at stake, adding that India will not compromise on its national interests under any circumstances.
