Continuing its firm action against illegal mining activities, Police Post Nagbal conducted a special drive within its jurisdiction and successfully seized 03 tippers found transporting illegally extracted minor minerals. During routine patrolling and checking, the police team intercepted the vehicles and upon inspection found that the drivers were carrying mining material without valid permission or legal documentation. Acting swiftly, the vehicles were seized on the spot to prevent further illegal extraction and transportation of minerals. Subsequently, the matter was taken up with the Department of Geology and Mining, and challans have been issued against the violators as per the relevant provisions of law. Ganderbal Police reiterated its commitment to curb illegal mining, which poses serious environmental and ecological threats. Strict action will continue against individuals involved in such unlawful activities. The general public is urged to cooperate with the police and report any instances of illegal mining or transportation of minerals to the nearest police establishment so that timely action can be taken.
