The Cultural Unit of the Department of Information and Public Relations Jammu and Kashmir organized a colorful and unique mushaira (poetic symposium) at Wazir Bagh today, centered on the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat.” Poets from outside the district, along with participants from various areas of the Maraz region, presented both serious and humorous poetry, earning appreciation from the audience. The event was coordinated by the kashmir cultural unit in collaboration with the District Information Officer Anantnag and Maraaz adbe sangam. The gathering reflected a strong message of social awareness, communal harmony, and unity, with both Hindu and Muslim poets sharing the stage. Addressing the audience, President of Maraz-e-Sangam, Mohammad Shafi Ayaz, welcomed the recent initiatives aimed at promoting the Kashmiri language. He termed the government’s positive response toward encouraging the use of Kashmiri in official communication as a commendable step, emphasizing that a mother tongue forms the core identity of any community. He further stressed the need to support poets and literary figures who have devoted their lives to the service of Kashmiri language and culture, particularly senior personalities who continue their contributions despite advancing age.
