Ganderbal, Feb 15: Maha Shivratri, locally known as Herath, was celebrated today with religious fervour and gaiety at the Kheer Bhawani Temple in Tullamula area of Ganderbal. Kashmiri Pandits and devotees from across India visited the temple, paid obeisance, and offered special prayers on the occasion. The district administration had made elaborate arrangements for the devotees to ensure smooth conduct of the celebrations and to make sure that no visitor faced any inconvenience. one of the devotees said that they felt blessed to visit the shrine on the auspicious day of Maha Shivratri and offered special prayers for peace, prosperity, and development in Kashmir.
