The Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, (LAHDC), Kargil, has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the reported martyrdom of Rehbar-e-Moazzam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the people of Iran, and all his followers across the world and he announced a three-day period of mourning in LAHDC Kargil as a mark of respect and solidarity. He prayed for lasting peace, stability, and tranquility in the region. On the occasion, the members present observed a two-minute silence in memory of the departed soul. The Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor also requested the people of Kargil to participate in the mourning period and join in prayers for peace. Executive Councillor Aga Syed Mujtaba Musawi recited Fatiha Khawani and expressed deep grief over the tragic news, praying for eternal peace to the departed leader and strength to the bereaved nation. Among those present were Executive Councillor Ponchuk Tashi, Executive Councillor Kacho Mohammad Feroz, other Hon’ble Councillors, and staff members of LAHDC Kargil. The Council reaffirmed its solidarity with the people of Iran and prayed for unity, peace, and harmony in the region.
