JDF Seeks Return of Jamaat-e-Islami Schools The schools of Jamaat-e-Islami were built through the hard work and dedication of our members,these schools were constructed with their blood & Sweat- Some sold rice from their homes & others sold other things and donate that money to establish these schools,Said JDF President Dr Shameem Ah Thokar Kulgam, November 09:A workers’ convention of the Justice and Development Front (JDF) was held at Nillow area of Kulgam on Saturday, attended by JDF President Dr. Shameem Ahmad Thokar, General Secretary, Secretary, District President, and several party workers and leaders. Speaking to the media on the occasion, former Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) member and JDF President Dr. Shameem Ahmad Thokar said that the schools established by Jamaat-e-Islami were built through the relentless efforts and sacrifices of its members. > “These schools were constructed with our blood and sweat. Some of our members sold rice from their homes, while others sold their personal belongings to raise funds for these institutions,” Thokar said. He added that over time, these schools have slipped out of their control and the overall education system has deteriorated. > “In the coming years, we may lose our buildings too. Neither our schools nor the quality education we once provided to our children will remain,” he lamented. Dr. Thokar urged the government to hand over these institutions back to Jamaat-e-Islami so they could manage them as before. When asked whether the schools were still under their management, Thokar clarified that although the managing bodies had been appointed by Jamaat-e-Islami, the government had appointed its own principals in these schools. > “Now, everything — including admissions, accounts, and records — is under government control,” he said. Thokar also mentioned that Education Minister Sakina Itoo had earlier set a three-month timeline, assuring that after this period, the schools could be handed back to Jamaat-e-Islami. > “The three months have already passed. We even met and discussed the issue with the Education Minister, but no response has been received. The government must return these schools to Jamaat-e-Islami, as the present situation is causing great loss — not only to the organization but to the education and future of our children,” Thokar added. Speaking on the 1987 elections, Dr. Thokar said that a grave injustice had been done to them at that time.
