Exclusive Ground Zero Report on Fresh Gunfight Erupts in Singhpura Chatroo Area of Kishtwar, one Terrorist injured After five days of sustained search operations to track hiding terrorists, a fresh gunfight broke out between terrorists and security forces in the Singhpura Chatroo area of Kishtwar district on Thursday afternoon. Meanwhile one terrorist has been injured in the encounter. Officials said contact with the terrorists, which had earlier been lost, was re-established on Thursday, triggering an intense exchange of fire that is currently underway. It is pertinent to mention that an encounter had initially erupted in the Singhpura Chatroo area four days ago, during which one para-trooper was killed and around half a dozen soldiers sustained injuries. The terrorists, however, managed to escape under the cover of dense forests, following which security forces launched a massive cordon and search operation in the area to track them down. According to reports, one terrorist has been injured in the ongoing encounter. Further details are awaited. Joint teams comprising commandos of 2nd Para, the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, SOG, and other security forces are carrying out the operation to neutralize the terrorists, believed to be two to three in number, hiding in the dense forest terrain. To ensure airtight surveillance, helicopters, drones, and sniffer dogs have been pressed into service, while heavy reinforcements have reached the spot to strengthen the ongoing offensive.
