Residents and tourism stakeholders from the area have appealed to the Lieutenant Governor’s administration to reopen the site at the earliest, saying that the continued closure has affected their livelihood and tourism-related employment. “Many tourist spots in Kashmir have reopened, but Drung Waterfall continues to remain closed for unknown reasons,” said a local shopkeeper. “We request the authorities to allow tourists here again so that we can earn our livelihood.” The Drung Waterfall, located near Tangmarg, is one of the most popular winter attractions in North Kashmir, famous for its frozen cascades and scenic beauty. Its closure has not only impacted local tourism businesses but also deprived visitors of experiencing one of Kashmir’s natural wonders.
