Both the higher reaches and Bhaderwah town itself experienced snowfall, bringing much-needed relief after a long dry period. The fresh snow has also boosted hopes for those dependent on the agriculture and tourism sector, including hoteliers, taxi operators, shopkeepers and vendors. As forecast by meteorologists, rainfall began around midnight across parts of Jammu province and gradually intensified, turning into snowfall in higher-altitude areas. Meanwhile, tourists are enjoying the snowfall just coming out of their hotels in Bhaderwah. SSP Traffic Police (National Highway) Raja Adil Hamid said that vehicular movement on NH-44 has been temporarily halted at safer locations as a precautionary measure due to ongoing rain and snowfall, which have made road conditions slippery.
